Quale SW per creare un immagine dell'hard disc?

Le partizioni con sistema non si ridimensionano per sicurezza, c'è chi sostiene che deframmentando prima poi si può fare, ma è meglio non farlo...
Al posto tuo ricomincerei da disco pulito.

formatta tutto, elimina le partizioni e ricomincia da capo... ormai hai fatto troppo casino per recuperare, tutto il tempo che hai perso... avevi già risolto eliminando il tutto... :roll:

Ho già tre HDD e due sono pieni di dati. su C volevo creare altee due partizioni, una programmi ed un altra dati, non è possibile? ma come mai una votla che ho formattato tutte le partizioni create prima al riavvio mi appare la scelta tra i tre SO anche se ora c'è solo xp (hwnl 5.0 v1)?
A me comunque piacerebbe poter continuare ad usare XP.

Si puoi farlo, usi una partizione primaria per il S.O. e crei una partizione estesa dove dentro puoi creare diverse partizioni logiche, in questo modo puoi conservare lo spazio per una seconda partizione primaria nel caso tu voglia mettere 2 S.O.

Ragazzi, finalmente sono riuscito ad eliminare il problema del boot manager di win xp. Ho cercato chi altri avesse avuto problemi di dual o multi boot dopo aver disinstallato vista da una partizione e in un forum ho trovato il suggerimento di usare la console di ripristino che però si trova solo sul cd orig. il comando sarebbe fixboot C: e lì mi ero arreso, anche perchè con il cd della 5.0 non dà come opzione la console. allora mi son rimesso a cercare e dopo ho trovato un tizio che semplicemente suggeriva di eliminare dalla root c: i seguenti elementi ( che poi non ho capito perchè questi elementi del boot di vista si sono installati dentro la root C: di XP):
Boot.BAK
bootmgr
BOOTSECT.BAK
VIRTPART.DAT
ed anche la cartella Boot

Ho dovuto usare unlocker per sbloccarli.

Ed in effetti al riavvio finalmente il pc si avvia come una volta, con xp senza proporre dual boot.
A questo punto sono ripartito daccapo. creando quindi una partizione estesa con dentro tre logiche: sistema, programmi e dati. Però quando ho convertito quella che voglio usare per vista da logica a primaria, norton partition manager me la fa vedere fuori dall'estesa creata prima e accanto alla primaria di c con xp. va bene così o devo installare vista lasciando la partizione come logica, dentro all'estesa?

perchè hai fatto 3 logiche includendo il S.O.? le logiche ti servono per i dati in una partizione estesa da poter condividere con tutti, esternamente alla partizione estesa dovevi creare le 2 primarie 1 per xp e uno per vista in modo da formattare quando vuoi senza passare per la partizione estesa, solitamente dentro una partizione estesa si mette linux perchè di suo ha bisogno di 2 o 3 partizioni se fai la home.

mi sa che allora la logica di funzionamento di partition magic ha avuto come risultato quello che dici tu. cioè prima ho creato un estesa, dentro alla quale ho creato tre logiche, quando poi ho convertito la prima delle tre (quella adiacente alla primaria con xp), questa viene ora visualizzata fuori dall'estesa e alla destra della primaria di xp. allego le due situazioni. Io non ho ancora installato vista, ho solo creato le tre partizioni oltre a quella pri9ncipale con xp, quindi leggerai solo i nomi che gli ho dato ma dentro non c'è ancora nulla.

Non capisco la differenza tra le due cose. mi puoi spegare? e poi quanto dovrebbe essere ampia una primaria per vista?
io vorrei provare ad usarlo come sistema per poter usare quella benedetta scheda tv che con xp non funziona (vedi altro mio post in software) e poi da lì casomai cancellare la partizione primaria dove ora sta xp, ma poi non so come fare per recuperare questo spazio. come hai detto tu, non conviene toccare una partizione dove c'è un SO, ma nel caso potrei riinstallare vista in questa dove ora c'è xp che sono 20 giga e quella dove ora metterei vista, quella da 5 giga, fonderla con quella dei dati. che dici?

Nello specifico del mio caso, ho provato a installare tutti i programmi nella partizione che avevo scelto per essi, ma molti neanche mi davano questa possibilità, per esempio nero6 se gli dò come percorso altro da C: mi da errore. Insomma, quelli che me lo permettevano li ho messi in altro disco programmi. Poi ho voluto provare la release con MCE e mi sono accorto che anche alcuni di quei programmi che mi avevano permesso di installarli nel disco programmi (fuori da C: quindi) non partivano più. mi sembra di aver capito che questi programmi una volta instsallato fuori da C hanno si la directory di installazazione dove li metti tu, ma i file di sistema li mettono comunque in C/windows ecc... quindi dopo la formattazione di C non funzionano più. Io di portabale non ho quasi nulla, ecco perchè a questo punto mi conviene installare tutto su C e fare un clone del disco C da conservare in caso di problemi.

proverò ad usare norton ghost. Ma...domanda...posso salvare un immagine del disco C che è una partizione di 25 GB del disco da 80? o devo fare immagine di intero disco senza partizioni? e poi se cambio disco (ho paura di avere qualche problema sul,vecchio disco da 80) con uno nuovo deve essere di 80 o anche di più va bene?

* Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) support. In order to create a point-in-time snapshot of a database, the servers like Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL and Oracle are notified before backup process begins. The technology allows synchronizing the servers' database and creating the correct copies of quick-changeable data.
* Dynamic Disks and BSD slices support. Dynamic disks and BSD slices can be backup, restored and copied. The feature is supported in both Windows and bootable versions of R-Drive image. You may create an image of one disk or a volume of any type and then restore the image back to a dynamic or basic disk. However when such image is restored you may not change a size or other characteristics of the target disk. When you restore a dynamic disk image to a basic disk, the basic disk remains basic and is not converted to the dynamic disk.
* A flexible control over CD/DVD writing. That allows limiting the writing speed and cashing in the ISO file.
* Improved file format of the image created by the application.
* Writing to NTFS partitions. Now the R-Drive Image bootable version (based on the Linux kernel) supports writing to NTFS partitions as well as R-Drive Image Windows version.[/spoiler]

Grazie mille. alla fine ho scoperto tramite la diagnostica s.m.a.r.t. che il mio disco C: da 80 GB è arrivato a fine carriera. Questo giustificherebbe molti problemi che ho avuto, spegnimento, errori windows, ecc.
ne comprerò uno nuovo e così spero di poter utilizzare le immagini che spero di arivare in tempo a creare con questi SW. a presto

Tagazzi, felice conclusione della vicenda. ho comprato un HDD della WD da sostituire al vecchio Maxtor che dava già problemi nella diagnostica smart. ho creato un immagine del sistema intero usando Macrium reflect e, usando il cd di avvio creato con lo stesso programma, ho copiato il tutto sul nuovo disco ed è andato tutto a posto (ma per sicurezza avevo creato cd avvio e immagine anche con acronis true image). Quindi questa cosa l'ho risolta. grazie a tutti

Si devi dargli un percorso diverso, ma per quanto riguarda me la maggiorparte di quelli che uso sono portable.

Mi sono documentato un pò di recente sui portable, anche con l'aiuto di fabianator. ne apprezzo l'utilità, però molti programmi che ho non esistono portable. Comunque alla fine invece che salvare drivera parte e dover cercare tutti i portable, ho deciso che per me è meglio creare un immagine del sistema pulito e con tutti i driver e programmi installati. Poi se faccio grandi cambiamenti posso sempre aggiornare l'immagine creata ed averla sempre a disposizione per eventuali ripristini. tra l'altro, il ripristino dell'immagine mi ha preso meno tempo di quando ho formattato e riinstallato il solo SO! almeno sul mio pc
